Mentoring

The JaxPAL Mentoring Program offers children extra guidance and support through a one-on-one relationship with an adult mentor. A meaningful, monitored, and carefully matched relationship helps motivate each child to overcome obstacles, realize their potential, and become a productive, successful adult.

The JaxPAL Mentoring ProgramĀ is not an academic tutoring program. Each mentor visits a child twice a month for one hour. Mentoring activities may include anything from reading and doing arts and crafts to learning about different cultures and playing sports. All mentor applicants go through a screening process and a Level II background check before acceptance into the program.

Tanja

I enrolled my daughter in JaxPAL because I needed an afterschool program close to home, a place where I felt comfortable leaving her since I have to work full time. I have always respected police officers but this program made me more aware of all the dedicated people who make the program work. I am grateful and appreciative to all. My daughter is more outgoing and really enjoys being at JaxPAL and participating in the different activities.
