Mentoring

The JaxPAL Mentoring Program offers children extra guidance and support through a one-on-one relationship with an adult mentor. A meaningful, monitored, and carefully matched relationship helps motivate each child to overcome obstacles, realize their potential, and become a productive, successful adult.

The JaxPAL Mentoring Program is not an academic tutoring program. Each mentor visits a child twice a month for one hour. Mentoring activities may include anything from reading and doing arts and crafts to learning about different cultures and playing sports. All mentor applicants go through a screening process and a Level II background check before acceptance into the program.

Tiffany

We enrolled our children in the JaxPAL program because it has a vision of investing in the lives of the children of Jacksonville. A program of this caliber is second to none. We have gained all the resources JaxPAL has to offer, especially the afterschool tutorials. It alleviates the pressures on the kids. We greatly appreciate the mentorship program. It’s a great experience for the kids. We have seen leadership qualities, independent decision making at their respective ages. They have come to understand what it means to be law-abiding.
