Mentoring

The JaxPAL Mentoring Program offers children extra guidance and support through a one-on-one relationship with an adult mentor. A meaningful, monitored, and carefully matched relationship helps motivate each child to overcome obstacles, realize their potential, and become a productive, successful adult.

The JaxPAL Mentoring Program is not an academic tutoring program. Each mentor visits a child twice a month for one hour. Mentoring activities may include anything from reading and doing arts and crafts to learning about different cultures and playing sports. All mentor applicants go through a screening process and a Level II background check before acceptance into the program.

JaxPAL is a safe place to be and it teaches you not to do bad things and not to bully and to help others. It has helped me by not having to be home all the time, to be fair, responsible, trustworthy, respectful, and have lots of citizenship.
