 Annual Sheriff's Cup
Charity Golf Classic
Each year, Sheriff John Rutherford hosts a special golf
tournament for the Police Athletic League of Jacksonville.
For nearly ten years, this well attended event at Deerwood
Country Club, has allowed us and opportunity to raise funds
- and all proceeds go directly to PAL for site improvements,
uniforms, training, and equipment for the youth of our
hometown.

 Charity Fun Shoot
Another traditional fund raiser the Sheriff has
helped with
for more than 4 years now, is an
annual charity skeet shoot.
Teams of 5 meet for
lunch and a fun skeet shoot tournament
at the
Jacksonville Gun Club. This year's event will be held on
December 2, 2008. More Details about the 2008

2008 Volunteer
Appreciation Ceremony
More than 300 Coaches, Staff Members, Community Leaders, and
Volunteers were honored on Friday night, May 9th at the
Prime Osborn Convention Dinner. A gourmet meal was
served as dozens of businesses and individuals were
recognized for their support of the Police Athletic League.

FLAG FOOTBALL: Registration open until September 30. 
The
Sheriff's Office and the Fire Department teamed up to help
kids get FIRED UP for FCAT! Hundreds of people
gathered to celebrate with students who diligently committed
themselves to take advantage of extra tutoring in order to
pass their FCATs! The celebration was fun and
encouraging.
